HubPeople has been building social and dating technology since 2005. Headquartered in Douglas, Isle of Man, we're a friendly, forward-thinking team of around 60 people — spanning offices in the Isle of Man, the UK, and remote locations worldwide.
We power thousands of social networks across the globe, and we believe the internet is richer when there's a welcoming home for every community, interest, and niche imaginable.

HubPeople was founded in 2005 with a straightforward idea: give communities the technology to connect. What started as a desktop-only web platform has grown into a fully white-label social and dating stack supporting native iOS and Android apps, progressive web apps, configurable subscription tiers, a built-in ad server, and a shared member database spanning over 100 niches.
Over the years we've expanded the range of communities and niches the platform supports dramatically — from mainstream dating through to highly specialised lifestyle communities — always with the belief that the more specific the space, the more meaningful the connection.
Today our partners keep up to 65% of all revenue, launch without infrastructure costs, and compete on brand rather than technology. We handle the rest.
2005
HubPeople founded in Douglas, Isle of Man. Initial platform launched as a desktop web product.
2009
Michael O'Sullivan joins the company, beginning a leadership journey that would define HubPeople's modern era.
2014
Won the iDate Award for Best SaaS Platform — recognition from the industry's most respected awards programme of the time.
2010s–20s
Platform expanded to support 100+ niches, native mobile apps, and partners across Europe, North America, and beyond.
Today
~60 people, 1,000+ active social networks, 17 currencies, and a growing list of industry recognitions. Still based in Douglas, Isle of Man.
Leadership
Owner & Managing Director
Michael joined HubPeople in 2009 and has led the company's evolution from a single desktop dating platform into one of the most capable white-label social technology providers in the world. Under his guidance the platform expanded its supported niches and communities significantly, added native mobile apps, introduced AI tooling for partners, and built a compliance and trust infrastructure that sits alongside major consumer dating brands.
He has been named one of the most influential people in online dating by Global Dating Insights for three consecutive years, and continues to shape the strategic direction of the business with the same hands-on approach he brought when he first arrived.
Michael sits on the board of the Online Dating & Discovery Association (ODDA), working alongside peers from Match Group, Bumble, Grindr, Parship, and other leading companies to help shape responsible industry standards globally.
