That's the question behind our latest project: rebuilding Gaydar. Unlike launching a dating site from scratch, Gaydar came with established brand recognition, an existing audience and a long-standing domain. That made it a different kind of test for our agentic toolkit, and a different kind of opportunity.
Rather than building credibility from the ground up, the goal was to give an established brand a stronger foundation: a modern member experience and better groundwork for SEO and organic growth.
Making the Most of Existing Authority
The rebuild was about more than a fresh look. It was a chance to rethink the site's structure and experience while laying the groundwork for long-term organic growth.
A domain with years of history can carry SEO value that a brand-new site simply doesn't have. The question is whether a modern technical and content foundation can help Gaydar make better use of that authority in search.
Early Signs of Commercial Growth
Comparing the four days before the rebuild with the four days immediately after launch:
- Join revenue increased by 20.9%, while registrations rose by 5.4%
- Revenue per user (RPU) increased by 23.1% on initial memberships
- Registration validation climbed from 74.0% to 76.0%, and completion rose from 63.1% to 66.3%
We've also seen an early uplift in organic traffic since launch. It's a short window and a small sample, but an encouraging signal.
A Strong Start, With More to Come
The initial results are promising, but the real test will come over time. As search engines reassess the rebuilt site, we'll continue tracking organic visibility and rankings alongside the commercial metrics above.
It's still early days, but the direction is positive.
